Leben auf der italienischen Front (Whitehall, PA)

We were doing an Italian campaign scenario for this one. The unit that we are representing is Nr. 5 Kompanie, Gren. Regt. 194 / 71st Infanterie Division.  The division was formed on 26 August 1939 as part of the 2nd Wave.  From October 1940 to March 1941 the division served as a training troop in Königsbrück.  From November 1941 through April 1942 it served in Belgium and France.  In February 1943 it was destroyed at Stalingrad. It would be reformed on 17 February 1943 in Denmark & eventually sent to Italy.

The impression is that of the 71st Division under the command of the German 10th Army.  We are manning what is known as the Gustav Line and will be preparing positions along the now quiet front.
